Projet in situ né de la lecture du plan de la galerie Saint Ravy.

Compressant sur le même plan la surface au sol et les détails du plafond, celui-ci devenait propice au flottement de l’imagination. En évoquant la table de travail de l’architecte, l’installation se veut précaire, «lévitant» à un niveau intermédiaire.

Devenant léger, le plan se dégage de sa réalité architecturale, la fragilité de la feuille de métal venant contraster avec la permanence et la stabilité de la pierre centenaire. Les ombres projetées au mur et au sol participent à la création d’un dimension supplémentaire, onirique, invitant à la contemplation et la méditation.

L’ensemble des huit lignes de dix pliages progressifs en feuille de cuivre n’est qu’une partie des possibles permis par l’origami dans le passage de la 2D à la 3D. Les pliages sont ainsi comme autant de variations d’un même espace dont le volume serait tordu, transformé à l’infini.

In situ project, inspired the Montpellier Saint Ravy gallery’s plan.

Compressing on the same plan the ground’s surface and the ceiling’s details, this plan was became favourable to an imagination slide. Evoking the architect bench, the installation seems to be delicate, “levitating” on an intermediary level.

Becoming light, the plan frees itself from its architectural reality. The metal sheet’s fragility contrasts with the permanency and stability of the centenary stone. The projected shades on wall and ground take part in the creation of an additional dream dimension, inviting us to contemplation and meditation.

All eight lines of the ten progressive foldings is only a part of what is possible with the origami work. From 2D to 3D, foldings are thus as many variations of the same space whose volume would be twisted and endlessly transformed.
